Asian Lady Beetle Treatment
What Was Applied Today & What to Expect
What We Applied Today
🔨
Exclusion — Caulk, Seal & Screen
Gaps around windows, door frames, soffits, and utility penetrations were sealed with exterior-grade caulk and foam sealant, focusing on south- and west-facing walls where beetles aggregate. Attic and soffit vents were screened with fine mesh.
🌿
Botanical Repellent at Entry Points
Peppermint oil spray was applied around exterior window frames, door frames, and soffits on south- and west-facing walls as a deterrent supplement to exclusion. Reapply every 5–7 days through fall season.
💡
Light Trap Placement
Indoor light traps were placed in attic space and window bays where beetles congregate. These provide passive, non-toxic capture as beetles emerge from wall voids, especially effective in spring.
What to Expect
📉
Immediate reduction in new entry
Sealed gaps prevent new beetles from entering. You may still see beetles already inside wall voids emerging over the next several weeks — this is normal as existing populations work their way out.
🌞
Spring emergence of overwintering beetles
Beetles that entered wall voids before sealing will emerge indoors in spring when temperatures warm. Light traps will capture these. Vacuum any you see — this is a one-time event, not a new invasion.
Full protection by next fall
With exclusion complete, next fall’s aggregation season should show dramatically fewer indoor beetles. The same beetles will land on exterior walls but cannot enter through sealed gaps.
Your Role in This Treatment
  • Vacuum any beetles you see indoors — use a dedicated shop-vac or immediately bag and dispose of the vacuum bag to avoid odor.
  • Do NOT crush or swat beetles — the yellow fluid permanently stains walls and fabrics.
  • Reapply peppermint spray at entry points every 5–7 days through October–November.
  • Check light traps weekly and empty as needed.
✓ Safe for Family & Pets
Exclusion uses only caulk and physical barriers. Botanical spray is plant-oil based and safe once dry. Light traps are non-toxic. No synthetic chemicals, foggers, or broadcast sprays were used.
📞 Call or Text Us If…
Large numbers of beetles continue appearing indoors after 2–3 weeks. This may indicate an unsealed entry point we need to address. Also contact us in spring if emergence is heavy — we can assist with vacuuming and trap adjustment.
