Camel Cricket Treatment
What Was Applied Today & What to Expect
What We Applied Today
🪤
Sticky Monitoring Traps
Non-toxic glue traps placed in basement corners, along walls, and near moisture sources. These capture crickets and help us map where they’re entering.
💨
Food-Grade Diatomaceous Earth
A thin layer of food-grade DE was applied in cracks along the sill plate, behind utility boxes, and in wall voids. This physically damages exoskeletons without chemical toxicity.
🌡️
Humidity Assessment
We measured relative humidity in your basement/crawl space. Camel crickets need damp, cool conditions — reducing humidity below 50% is the primary fix.
What to Expect
📉
Gradual decline over 2–3 weeks
As humidity drops below 50%, camel crickets will stop entering. Sticky traps will show declining catches.
🪤
Check traps every few days
Declining trap counts confirm the treatment is working. High-catch traps indicate nearby entry points we can seal.
Full resolution in 4–6 weeks
With consistent dehumidification and entry points sealed, camel crickets will move on permanently.
Your Role in This Treatment
  • Run dehumidifier continuously in the basement — target below 50% RH.
  • Clear cardboard, newspapers, and clutter from the basement floor.
  • Remove leaf litter and mulch from the foundation perimeter outside.
  • Do not disturb sticky traps or dust in cracks — both need time to work.
✓ Safe for Family & Pets
Food-grade DE applied only in hidden cracks and voids. Sticky traps are non-toxic. No sprays were used indoors. All treated areas are safe immediately.
📞 Call or Text Us If…
No reduction in trap catches after 3 weeks, or if camel crickets appear in new areas of your home. This may indicate an unresolved moisture source.
