A very thin layer of food-grade mineral dust was applied inside wall voids, behind baseboards, and in cracks where silverfish hide. It works by physically damaging their waxy coating — no chemical toxicity.
🪤
Sticky Monitoring Traps
Non-toxic glue traps were placed along baseboards, behind toilets, and under sinks to monitor the population and track treatment progress over time.

Humidity Assessment
We measured relative humidity in affected areas. Silverfish need 75%+ humidity to thrive — bringing it below 50% is the primary fix and the foundation of this treatment plan.
What to Expect
📉
Gradual decline over 2–4 weeks
As humidity drops below 50%, silverfish cannot reproduce and will slowly die off. DE accelerates this by damaging any insects that cross treated areas.
🪤
Trap counts will drop steadily
Check sticky traps every few days — declining catches confirm the treatment is working. We'll review trap data at follow-up.
✅
Full resolution in 4–6 weeks
With consistent dehumidification, most silverfish populations are eliminated within 4–6 weeks. Persistent humidity problems may require follow-up.
Your Role in This Treatment
Run your dehumidifier continuously — target below 50% relative humidity.
Use bathroom exhaust fans during and 30 minutes after every shower.
Store books, papers, and cardboard in sealed plastic bins.
Do not disturb the sticky traps or dust in cracks — they need to stay in place to work.
✓ Safe for Family & Pets
Food-grade DE was applied only in hidden cracks and voids — not on open surfaces. Sticky traps are non-toxic. No sprays were used. Treated areas are safe immediately.

You see no reduction in trap counts after 3 weeks, or if you notice silverfish in new rooms. This may indicate an unresolved moisture source we need to investigate.
